The Power of Community – Medica’s Year in Review
Earlier this year, we released the annual “Power of Community” report highlighting our commitment to social responsibility and employee engagement. “We have a deep commitment to our employees, many choosing to work at Medica because they want to work for a company that values corporate citizenship,” said Christine Finn, Vice President of Marketing and Communications and executive sponsor of Medica’s volunteer program. “Our culture of caring is reflected in the thousands of hours our employees have given to organizations across the region, and we’re proud of that commitment.”
Medica partners with hundreds of nonprofit organizations across the Midwest and provides employees with 16 hours of paid volunteer time off each year to support organizations that are most important to them. See the latest “Power of Community” report here.
Annual Community Giving Report
The Medica Foundation also recently released its 2018 annual community giving report. This report highlights how the foundation supports innovative nonprofit programs that address critical community health needs. Grant investments totaled $1.5 million last year, supporting community-based initiatives that focus on behavioral health, early childhood health, and rural health programs. Establishing connections with nonprofits and supporting such initiatives is a priority for the foundation. Improving health and removing barriers to heath care services is how the Medica Foundation helps create meaningful change in the communities it serves. Next year’s funding opportunities will be announced in Feb. 2020. See the latest Medica Foundation report here. |
